Some companies may discourage the use of social media, deeming it to be counterproductive and distracting while at work. However, an interesting new thing here at PKM recently has been our implementation of the “Yammer” social networking site. It’s a social networking site similar to Facebook, except it is designed and used solely for company use. For us at PKM, it’s the perfect site where all PKM employees can get together to ask questions, share ideas and information, collaborate on projects and stay up to date on what’s going on within the firm. No longer do we have to rely strictly on emails or calling to correspond with one another. It’s exciting to see that we are staying up to date and taking advantage of new technologies like this and using them to help improve our processes and efficiencies within the firm.
