Community banking is in our DNA.
Our roots run deep, dating back to 1977 when we first began performing audit work for the community banking industry in Georgia. Evolving with the industry, our service offerings have also evolved over the past several decades to not only include audit, but also Risk Advisory, Tax and IT Systems services. While Georgia remains our home, and where we do the bulk of our work, we currently have more than 125 financial institution clients operating in a number of states nationwide, affording us a broad-based perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry on a national level. Ranging in size from $50 million to just under $10 billion in assets, PKM’s financial institution clients include private community banks, SEC-registered bank holding companies and S Corporation banks.
As you might expect, our professionals are immersed in the banking industry. As such, we have developed deep relationships with key industry players and regulators who have come to know, and trust, our firm. Because banks represent nearly 70% of our business, we have a seasoned team with partner-level banking specialists in every one of our key disciplines. Our clients include some of the top leaders in the industry and virtually all PKM employees have worked on bank engagements.
To educate our clients of changes in the industry, we host seminars on a variety of topics to address questions commonly asked by our community banking professionals. Some of our larger seminars have included topics relating to Mergers & Acquisitions, Basel III, Regulatory Compliance and Vendor Management. The firm also offers an educational opportunity specifically for financial institution clients via the “Financial Institutions Roundtable.” These informative, one-hour webinars cover important topics quickly and conveniently to offer our clients valuable insights on current industry hot topics, best practices and trends.
It is important to note that PKM serves a large contingent of public banks as well, which speaks not only to our audit and service quality, but also our in-depth knowledge about regulatory compliance with the SEC. PKM currently serves nearly 25 SEC-registered clients and offers services from each of our firm’s four practice segments.
