Family dinner

In my limited time with PKM, I’ve come to know a few things about this firm that make me never regret my decision to become a part of the PKM Family.  I’d like to talk about the one that means the most to me, and the key word I used previously is “Family.”  In no other organization have I ever felt as valued and accepted as a member of a large and wonderful group of people. PKM is not just a workplace; it’s a place to come and be with people that truly care about you and your success, inside and outside of the workplace.

This notion of “Family” can be easily illustrated by the time outside of work that we spend with each other.  Whether it is a firm outing, like white water rafting down the Ocoee River, or something as informal as a quarterly supper club, we enjoy the company of our coworkers.  As a self-proclaimed foodie, I’ve especially cherished my experience with our supper clubs.  Our most recent adventure led us to downtown Decatur, where we tried Revival, a restaurant recently opened by celebrity chef Kevin Gillespie.  Prior to PKM, I would never imagine sharing food with a coworker, but there we were, passing plates around and trying all that was available.  The fried chicken was succulent, but nothing compared to the rich chocolate cake we tried afterwards.

When searching for the right place to spend the majority of your time, I feel that it’s important to know what you’re getting into.  Although my recruitment to PKM was far from traditional, I felt like the people were such that I could enjoy their company both while at work and away from it.  Like I stated previously, having such comfort with those around me has been one of the most rewarding aspects to joining the PKM family, and I would make the same choice a thousand times over.
