Ever Changing Technology

I recently read an article that discussed how technology is changing faster than people can keep up with nowadays…which isn’t surprising news to say in the least. The life cycle of tech products 20 years ago held a life span of 5-8 years, but now the cycle has shortened considerably to 6 months-2 years depending on the product. As an IT guru of sorts, people would assume that keeping up with all the new tech trends are easy, but it’s far from the truth. Not only do you have to keep up with new features of old products, but you have to be knowledgeable about the difference between old and new products, in addition to how the latest products are combining with other products to create a “new user experience” whether it’s TVs, gaming systems, computers, cameras, phones, etc.

At PKM, we openly embrace technology, new and old, as a part of our firm culture and so I am always looking for ways to help improve user experiences here so that everyone in the firm can accomplish their tasks and projects as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
