A Goal to Work Toward
March 28, 2014
Having just finished up my internship in the midst of busy season, I finally have a chance to reflect on my experience at PKM. The people here at all levels of the organization have exceeded my expectations, creating a really special two months for me. I was able to form some real friendships, and work on a variety of projects. Everyone around me strove to create a helpful, relaxed atmosphere which made it easy to learn. I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed public accounting work, especially after hearing many busy season horror stories. The people at PKM, and the environment they create, are what set the firm apart. I may risk sounding cliché with that statement, but it is absolutely true.
I knew before my internship was over that my goal would be to come back and start my career at PKM. Now that I know I will get that opportunity, I could not be happier! It gives me a goal to work toward as I adjust back to college life. I’m sure that having a future at PKM will serve as a light at the end of the tunnel as I persevere through master’s and CPA classes. As an added bonus, I believe the knowledge I gained while interning will serve me well in many of those classes. I know I will enjoy my last year of college, but I can’t wait to get started again at PKM!
